Tumaini is a Swahili word meaning “hope”.  Tumaini Counselling Centres serve the members of AIM, SIL and also missionaries from over 160 like-minded agencies throughout Africa.  Our mission is to provide preventative and restorative mental health services and pastoral care in order to enhance missionary resilience and fruitfulness.

Tumaini Counselling Service in Kampala, Uganda, offers confidential clinical services which are available to any Christian missionary working in Africa. These range from clinical care to simply helping missionaries normalise the challenges and frustrations of missionary life.

Staff

The clinical staff at Tumaini centres are all professionally qualified, and accredited or licensed by their professional bodies.  In addition they are all missionaries themselves, so they know the joys and challenges of mission life from first-hand experience.

Conference Centre

Tumaini Counselling Centre has a spacious and comfortable conference room which can easily seat up to 100 people. The centre is well equipped with white boards, overhead projector, video projector, cushioned chairs, tables, and generator back-up.  It is the ideal location for meetings and conferences.

Tumaini Nairobi

The Tumaini Counselling Centre in Karen, Nairobi, is well established and offers a wide range of services. Comprising 10 counselling rooms with a comfortable waiting room, a Conference Centre able to accommodate up to 100 participants, a comprehensive library with mission and member care books, and beautiful gardens.

Tumaini Kampala

Tumaini Kampala is our new Counselling Centre in Uganda. Tumaini Kampala opened its doors for counselling in March 2016.  After 25 years of service in Nairobi, Kampala is the location of the second counselling service where Africa Inland Mission offers support to missionaries.
