Breanna Thompson

As a Canadian missionary who relocated to Nairobi, Kenya, to teach in 2017, I bring a unique perspective to my counseling work, shaped by my personal experiences navigating cultural transitions and living abroad. My transition from teaching to counseling was driven by a profound interest in holistic wellness and a desire to support individuals facing anxiety, depression, and cultural adaptation struggles. This journey led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University.

I am deeply committed to integrating a Christ-centered focus into my therapeutic practice. I operate from a holistic approach, believing that healing involves addressing the emotional, psychological, biological, and spiritual facets of life. My faith provides a foundation of hope, compassion, and purpose, guiding my work with clients to foster growth and resilience.

My approach is rooted in the Integrative Interactional model, which emphasizes how our interactions and relationships with the world shape our mental well-being. I also integrate other therapeutic modalities such as IFS, sandtray and EMDR.  I work with clients of all ages, from children and adolescents to adults and couples.

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to empowering individuals by helping them recognize their inherent strengths and navigate their unique challenges. Whether you're dealing with isolation, anxiety, or trauma, I am here to walk alongside you, providing the tools and support needed to foster growth and healing.

Therapeutic Modalities:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Brainspotting (BSP)
